§193.2607 Foreign material.

(a)  The presence of foreign material, contaminants, or ice shall [used in the mandatory and imperative sense] be avoided or controlled to maintain the operational safety of each component [any part, or system of parts functioning as a unit, including, but not limited to, piping, processing equipment, containers, control devices, impounding systems, lighting, security devices, fire control equipment, and communication equipment, whose integrity or reliability is necessary to maintain safety in controlling, processing, or containing a hazardous fluid].

(b)  LNG plant [an LNG facility or system of LNG facilities functioning as a unit] grounds must [used in the mandatory and imperative sense] be free from rubbish, debris, and other material which present a fire hazard. Grass areas on the LNG plant grounds must be maintained in a manner that does not present a fire hazard.
