§195.438 Smoking or open flames.

Each operator [a person who owns or operates pipeline facilities.] shall prohibit smoking and open flames in each pump station area and each breakout tank [a tank used to (a) relieve surges in a hazardous liquid pipeline system or (b) receive and store hazardous liquid transported by a pipeline for reinjection and continued transportation by pipeline.] area where there is a possibility of the leakage of a flammable hazardous liquid or of the presence of flammable vapors.
