Pipeline Safety Management Systems: Vital for the Safe Operation of Pipelines
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a new Safety Alert to highlight the importance of implementing pipeline safety management systems (PSMS) to mitigate the risk of pipeline accidents (SA-095). The NTSB believes that by implementing PSMS, pipeline operators will be better positioned to evaluate their systems and respond efficiently because they have reduced the possibility of an accident, or in the event an accident does occur employees are better prepared to respond.
